USDA-Inspected and Approved Ground Beef
We only use the finest USDA-inspected and approved, restaurant-grade, ground beef in this healthy dog recipe. Beef is considered a prime source of high-quality, complete protein and is also rich in iron and zinc, as well as vitamins B12 and B6.
USDA-Inspected and Approved Beef Liver
Beef liver is a nutrient-dense food. Ounce for ounce, it contains the most concentrated amounts of protein and vitamin A. It’s a rich source of heme iron, the most absorbable form of iron. Liver is also high in copper, folate, riboflavin, niacin, phosphorus and zinc.
Russet potatoes are high in potassium and contain substantial amounts of vitamins C and B6. They are also a good source of niacin, fiber, magnesium, iron, and thiamine. Russet potatoes for dogs are cleaned and cooked with the skins on in order to preserve the maximum nutritional value.
Sweet potatoes contain a unique root storage protein that has significant antioxidant capabilities and are an excellent source of vitamin A and a very good source of vitamin C and manganese. Sweet potatoes for dogs are also high in beta-carotene and a good source of copper, dietary fiber, vitamin B6, potassium and iron.
Carrots are full of antioxidant compounds and are one of the richest sources of the pro-vitamin A carotenes. The antioxidant compounds may help to prevent heart disease, cancer in dogs, and help protect good vision. In addition, carrots for dogs are a very good source of vitamins C and K, potassium and dietary fiber.
Green beans are rich in vitamin K, riboflavin, copper, omega-3 fatty acids and niacin. Green beans for dogs are also a good source for dietary fiber, phosphorus and protein.
Green peas are a very good source of vitamins C and K, manganese, dietary fiber, folate, and thiamine. Peas for dogs are also a good source of vitamin A, phosphorus, vitamin B6, protein, niacin, magnesium, riboflavin, copper, iron, zinc and potassium.
We always core our apples for dogs before including them in our fresh recipes. We use red delicious apples that are high in antioxidants and fiber.
Safflower oil contains essential omega-6 fatty acids which, via prostaglandins, strengthen cell membranes and regulate every function in the body at the molecular level. Canola oil for dogs is both more common as well as more affordable than safflower oil but given the controversy surrounding canola oil and the superiority of safflower oil for dogs, we believe the expense is justified.

It is also available for purchase separately to use with our DIY homemade recipe kit.
