The JustFoodForDogs Nutrient Blend is formulated specifically for each recipe to meet AAFCO recommendations. The blend is compounded from 100% human-grade nutraceuticals regulated by the FDA.
Ground Lamb
Ground lamb is a rich and very palatable high-quality protein and is an especially good source of zinc and iron — very beneficial for maintaining a healthy metabolism, healthy skin, and a shiny coat. It is also rich in B vitamins which aid in digestion and provide energy. Ground lamb is also one of the best sources of the amino acid derivative: carnitine. Carnitine is essential for energy production and heart health.
Long-Grain Brown Rice
Long-grain brown rice is an excellent source of dietary fiber, which is great for digestion. Brown rice is also loaded with B vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium, which is needed for healthy muscle and nerve function.
Cauliflower
Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable, similar to broccoli, that contains glucosinolates and thiocyanates — known antioxidants that help reduce inflammation. Cauliflower is also a great source of vitamins C and K as well as folate and manganese. Cauliflower is great for overall health as it promotes a healthy immune system and is beneficial for digestion.
Carrots
Carrots are an excellent low-calorie source of beta-carotene as a source of vitamin A, which is great for maintaining healthy vision. Carrots are also a great source of fiber, vitamins C and K, which help immune function and blood clotting. Carrots also contain potassium, which is an important electrolyte involved in hydration.
Lamb LIver
Lamb liver is a nutrient-dense food that contains a high concentration of vitamin B12 and vitamin A, which are great for energy and metabolism as well as maintaining healthy vision. Lamb liver is also great for red blood cell health as it is a rich source of highly absorbable heme iron.
Spinach
Spinach is a fiber-packed leafy green that is rich in vitamins and in particular, beta-carotene, which is a precursor to Vitamin A and is very important for healthy vision. Spinach is also a great source of magnesium, manganese, and zinc, which aid in maintaining healthy hormones, bodily functions, and immune health.
Blueberries
Packed with antioxidants, blueberries are an excellent source of vitamin K and are high in vitamin C and dietary fiber. Blueberries are also a great low-calorie treat that your dogs will love!
Safflower Oil
Safflower oil contains the essential omega-6 fatty acid, linoleic acid, which can help promote healthy skin and is important for optimal immune function.
Fish Oil
Icelandic premium fish oil provides omega-3 fatty acids in highly biologically available forms of EPA and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids are important for maintaining healthy skin, a shiny coat, and brain development during growth.
