Real Ingredients

Completely Transparent. We have no secrets about the things that matter to pets and their parents, not even our coveted recipes.

Ground Turkey

Ground turkey is a high-quality source of lean protein which helps to build and maintain muscle. Turkey also contains selenium, niacin, iron, zinc, phosphorus, potassium, and B vitamins, which are great energy boosters as they aid in digestion and a healthy metabolism.

Whole wheat pasta, which is made from whole grains, is a very nutrient-dense carbohydrate source with high levels of dietary fiber and B vitamins such as folate and thiamine. These all help support digestion and provide more energy for metabolism.

Broccoli has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits as well as dietary fiber to aid in digestion and weight management. Loaded with vitamins C and K, folate, and beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A), broccoli is also great for vision and heart health.

Zucchini is an excellent low-calorie source of vitamin C, which is a great antioxidant. Zucchini can also support healthy vision as it is rich in beta-carotene as a source of vitamin A, and can aid with digestion as it contains dietary fiber. Zucchini also contains potassium, folate, niacin, thiamine, riboflavin, and vitamin B6. These are all great energy boosters.

Carrots are an excellent low-calorie source of beta-carotene as a source of vitamin A, which is great for maintaining healthy vision. Carrots are also a great source of fiber and vitamins C and K, which help immune function and blood clotting. Carrots contain potassium as well, which is an important electrolyte involved in hydration.

Turkey liver is high in protein, and it also contains a high concentration of vitamin B12 and vitamin A, which are great for energy and metabolism as well as maintaining healthy vision. Turkey liver is also great for red blood cell health as it is a rich source of highly absorbable heme iron.

Cranberries are high in dietary fiber and packed with antioxidants like vitamins C and E. Aside from the benefit of aiding with digestion, cranberries also contain manganese and vitamin K, which are helpful for metabolism and essential for blood clotting, respectively.

Icelandic premium fish oil provides omega-3 fatty acids in highly biologically available forms of EPA and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids are important for maintaining healthy skin, a shiny coat, and brain development during growth.

All of our daily diets for dogs have passed AAFCO protocol feeding trials at Cal Poly Pomona. In fact, the trials conducted at the university were much more stringent than the AAFCO protocol standards, as the Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) of the university found the AAFCO feeding trial to be too rudimentary. The reality is our diets have passed trials that exceed AAFCO standards. JFFD is the first pet food company ever to conduct humane feeding trials at a major university using faculty and student dogs living happily in their own homes. Most pet food companies do not run trials at all and those that do tend to use laboratories that house beagles that live their lives for animal testing. Like everything we do at JFFD — we did it a better way! Learn more about our feeding trials here: A One of A Kind Partnership.
