Chicken thigh meat is an excellent source of protein, vitamin B-6, panthothenic acid, phosphorus, zinc, selenium and niacin. It is sometimes overlooked that chicken thigh meat delivers more vitamin B, iron, antioxidants and overall nutritional value than its white meat counterparts.
Chicken gizzard is low in saturated fat and sodium. It’s a very good source of protein, vitamin B-12, iron, phosphorus, zinc and selenium.
Chicken liver is a highly nutrient dense food, containing the most concentrated volume of protein and vitamin A. It’s rich in heme-iron, the most absorbable form of iron. Liver is also high in copper, folate, riboflavin, and niacin.
Long Grain White Rice, Enriched
Long grain enriched white rice is an easily digestible grain. It is fortified with B Complex to help break down food into energy and support red blood health. It’s also loaded with iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper and selenium.
Spinach is used in our dog recipes because it is rich in beta-carotene and lutein and has excellent antioxidant properties. Spinach for dogs is also a great source of vitamin K, magnesium, folate and manganese as well as omega-3 fatty acids and zinc.
Carrots are full of antioxidant compounds and are one of the richest sources of the pro-vitamin A carotenes. The antioxidant compounds may help to prevent heart disease, cancer in dogs, and help protect good vision. In addition, Carrots for dogs are a very good source of vitamins C and K, potassium and dietary fiber.
We always core our apples for dogs before including them in our fresh dog recipes. We use red delicious apples that are high in antioxidants and fiber.
