Do It Yourself Nutrient Blend - Venison
With our Venison & Squash Do It Yourself kit, you can now make the same meals we make in
our kitchens! Included in the kit is the recipe itself, a shopping list, easy-to-follow instructions,
and our vet formulated nutrient blend.
In addition to ingredients like venison and squash, this perfectly balanced diet also contains a nutritious mix of jewel sweet potatoes, cranberries, and Brussels sprouts. It’s also high in protein, so it provides a seamless transition for dogs who are currently eating a raw diet, and it’s an ideal option for dogs in need of a “novel protein.”

JFFD’s Nutrient Blend is formulated specifically for each recipe to meet NRC RA recommendations. The blend is compounded from 100% human-grade nutraceuticals sourced from a facility regulated by the FDA.
Venison is high in protein and iron but yet low in fat. It is rich in many nutrients like vitamins B12, B6, riboflavin, and niacin. We purchase all of our venison from Daniels Meats, a USDA facility in Southern California that specializes in fresh, top-quality restaurant meats.
Butternut Squash is high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. It is high in dietary fiber, vitamins A and C, omega 3 fatty acids, folate, copper, B6, niacin, pantothenic acid, and potassium.
Sweet potatoes contain a unique root storage protein that has significant antioxidant capabilities and are an excellent source of vitamin A and a very good source of vitamin C and manganese. Sweet potatoes for dogs are also high in beta-carotene and a good source of copper, dietary fiber, vitamin B6, potassium and iron.
Brussels sprouts are high in antioxidants such as vitamins C, E and A and are also high in omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin K, both aids in the prevention of inflammation. Brussels sprouts are high dietary fiber, manganese, iron, riboflavin, copper, and calcium.
Cranberries are considered to be one of the world’s most healthy foods. Cranberries for dogs provide an excellent source of vitamin C, a very good source of dietary fiber and a good source of vitamin K. Cranberries promote gastrointestinal health by preventing bacteria from attaching to cells and disrupting bacterial communication. They are also full of antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols that can protect dogs against heart disease, free-radical damage, atherosclerosis (clogged arteries) and urinary tract infections.
Safflower oil contains essential omega-6 fatty acids which, via prostaglandins, strengthen cell membranes and regulate every function in the body at the molecular level. Canola oil for dogs is both more common as well as more affordable than safflower oil but given the controversy surrounding canola oil and the superiority of safflower oil for dogs, we believe the expense is justified.
